Welcome to 12 Stone Spirituality
“He got up early the next morning and built an altar at the foot of the mountain and set up twelve stones representing the twelve tribes of Israel.”- Exodus 24:4
Sociologist, scholars, pundits and people of all walks of life agree that the church in the Western world is in a period of decline, reshaping, reorientation and drought. Some have even said that the church has begun its journey through the wild desert of the faith. While the desert is an arid and sparse place, it can also be a place of refining, contemplation and growth. Many will look and say we have lost everything, others will look and see new opportunities for the service of our God and neighbor. Moses looked at the barren landscape that surrounded him and found 12 stones, ordinary rocks that anonymously dotted the landscape and pulled them together as an act of worship to his God. That is goal of this blog: to walk through this desert of faith finding new, innovative and powerful ways to worship the God who walks with us through this arid land.
